National
Textile Corporation Ltd. [NTC] was set up with the
main objective of managing the affairs of the Sick Textile
Undertakings taken over by the Government. It was also proposed
to rehabilitate and modernise these mills after the take-over
and expand them wherever necessary with a view to making them
economically viable.
NTC
was incorporated in April, 1968 and started functioning in
October, 1968. At present there are 119 mills, controlled
by 9 subsidiary corporations of the holding company, namely,
NTC (APKKM), NTC (DPR), NTC (MP), NTC
(SM), NTC (MN), NTC (GUJ.), NTC (TN&P),
NTC (UP) & NTC (WBABO).
Fabric: Cotton and Polyster Blends and
blends like Polyster cotton and Polyster viscose.
Yarn used for some of the cotton fabric is as
fine as 120 and 150count
Ready Mades: Shirts, Sarees,
Designer Kurta-Payjama, Ladies & Gents Tops
and Bottoms, Ladies Punjabi Suits, Night Suits
& Boxer, etc.Made-ups: Bed Sheets, Handkerchef
Yarn: Cotton 20 to 150 count,
100% Polyester 30 to 60 count and Blends from
30 to 64 count.
Markets
& Marketing Channels
The
Marketing of fabrics is done through various channels
such as, Indenting Agents, Whole-sellers, Semi-wholesalers,
Dealer network established across the country
and through our Retail Outlets.
The Mills have been exporting sizeable quantities
of Grey sheeting fabric through merchant exporters.
The Mills also have capability to export yarn
in coarse and medium counts.
The Mills have been supplying cloth to Defence
Department, to various institutions under D.G.S.&
D rate contracts & Public Sector Undertakings.
